asked snow
of still life
“Why barren?
My drifts have soothed and cleansed.”
and
heart
began
BEATING
asked sun
of still voice
“Why silent?
My rays have warmed and brightened.”
and
lungs
began
BREATHING
asked rain
of still limbs
“Why stagnant?
My drops have restored and cheered.”
and
arms
began
STRETCHING
asked wind
then of me
“Why grounded?
My breath has moved and humored.”
and
I
began
SOARING

Inspirational! Thank you so much!
Thank you so much, Rick! Have a wonderful day!😊
You’re such a good poet
Thank you! You made my day. I would say that I am a poet-in-learning.😊
That’s how I feel about myself – my poems are sort of amateurish. But I think all of yours are just great
That is very sweet of you. One thing that has helped me in all of my writing is to take poets or authors I really love and to mimic their style, line for line, for short passages using my own words. I learn more from that exercise than anything else I have done.😊
I do that with Milton too! Just the number of syllables in some of my poems…but it’s a pale imitation lol. I honestly haven’t read too many poets, but Milton was just a genius
You like horror, right. You might want to give Poe a try. I’ve worked with his shorter poems a bit. Or pick your favorite horror/thriller author and try a few paragraphs. I learn a lot this way. You can have fun with it and completely change the theme, just try to hold the structure. Milton was a genius…tough to replicate.⛄
Tanya, well that is certainly uplifting :>) I like the theme you used here. Well done, my friend, Keith
Thank you so much, Keith! I’m glad you enjoyed it. It was uplifting to write as well.
Another beautiful poem, Tanya. You do these so well…
🙂
Thank you so much! I found this one inspiring as well…
I’m learning each and every day.⛄
You seem to be well polished in your learning! Seriously, you write all things very well, Tanya!
Thank you, Steve! I work hard at it, and I keep exploring new ways to write and express myself. I know I have a lot left to learn, and that is a good thing.
From what I read, you are well on your way to being an expressive and impressive writer as it is!
🙂
Thank you again, Steven. That means a lot to me! Have a wonderful day!⛄
It’s the truth!
You are too kind! Have a wonderful day!⛄
Whatever you feel you’ve needed to learn you’ve learn’t because you don’t need to do anything other than write as you do … this is more than beautiful it feels a part of you.
Oh, thank you so much! This one definitely is a part of me. I hope I always feel like I am learning though. I think it’s a really important part of keeping it fresh…that process of discovery.
