Dear Donald #1

Dear Donald,

I understand that you are building a wall to keep dangerous Mexicans off our soil, and you have bravely banned humans of seven scary Muslim countries from entering our great nation.

While you are busy signing executive orders to make America great again, I was wondering if you would consider the following:

1. a ban on all grasshoppers
2. a nationwide flight restriction on mosquitos, especially the kind that carry the Zika Virus
3. a prohibition on plant blight
4. a restriction on drought that covers all except the designated desert plains
5. an immediate halt to the entry in United States’ air space of any cloud even thinking of forming a tornado vortex
6. an offshore boundary prohibiting hurricanes from coming within 200 nautical miles of our fine country’s shores, or else
7. an immediate ban on all forms of cancer
8. a strict restriction on flooding in urban or agricultural districts
9. an executive order calling for the immediate halt of all traffic accidents
10. a ban on the flu virus, something that would save millions of dollars annually in vaccines alone

I can think of many other items to put on this list; but, between your ban of people from those Muslim countries and your wall to keep Mexican people out, I don’t see how there will be enough working humans left in America to complete the tasks already mentioned.

  2. Tanya, thank you for the best laugh I’ve had in days–weeks, maybe months. I’m thinking maybe we should hope to visit Kennedy’s proposed Camelot again. I’m loving’ it!

      1. I think you are right about that, Tanya. I hate situations like this, but unfortunately we have sold out to everyplace in the world, so we now have to live with it! At least you are making it amusing for the rest of us.

  3. I like the fact that you are willing to speak up for your opinions.
    I like the fact that you have allowed me to rebut them. However, in this case there is no substance to rebut; only innuendo posing as humor.

  5. I appreciate the humor and understand the serious undertone of your message. I find it paradoxical, however, that our country stands up in protest to the potential harm we’re causing refugees, yet we have no difficulty accepting corrupt and harmful policies our own institutions subject our own citizens to. Where are the protests for MANDATED HEALTH PROCEDURES including FORCED chemotherapy on minors against their parent’s authorization? Our “coming together as a nation” seems more focused on a protest against TRUMP (the individual) than a collective desire to ensure the rights and privileges ascribed to each U.S. citizen by our own constitution.

    1. If this was just about Trump, it would be a lot easier to deal with. As you pointed out, we have a lot of systemic problems. It is why I sarcastically used “cure for cancer” and “ban on flu”. People in this country need to step up and take personal responsibility for their lives and show concern for all our neighbors, next door and global. So I agree completely. That said, Trump is holding the kind of racist card that led to the Holocaust, and lots of people are buying in.

Tanya, could we bar those billionaires who exploited others to make money through bullying, lawsuits, threatened lawsuits, counter lawsuits, misrepresentations, stiffing contractors on a routine basis, not to mention who sexually harass women and admit to assault in more than one interview?       1. Tanya, I read that 48% of folks support the ban. My guess is too many do not realize how chaotic it is and how poor it makes us look. This ban actually makes us less safe by fueling ISIS and insulting American Muslims. This ban and other poorly thought decisions need to be highlighted. Keith

      2. I agree, Keith. We also need to take seriously the plight of the world’s refugees. We are blessed with so many resources in our country. They need our help. I can’t understand the 48%…It is fear generated racism at its worst.

  9. The solution to “refugees” is to stop bombing and destabilizing their countries. With circa 1000 military bases around the world, (not to mention navies and submarines cruising about looking for targets) what are the USA hoping to accomplish but to start a war that will decimate the planet? Accepting refugees is closing the barn door after the horses are gone. Hey, USA, you’re the number one refugee maker of the world – stop making them! Bring your mad military home, disarm it, stop selling weaponry to madmen and spend the money on your poor, on education and your crumbling infrastructure. Hmmm?

    1. Humankind has been fighting wars, killing each other and creating situations where people needed to flee their homes for thousands of years before something called the USA existed. The kind of bigoted hatred and fear that keeps a group of people out of a country based on their religion or nationality is the kind of spirit that led to the Holocaust. There are many problems that need fixing in the US, but that is true for the rest of the world as well. Hatred is hatred. Greed is greed. Love is uncommon…everywhere.

  13. I love your words dear Tanya. I agree with you 100%. I was a soldiers and befiended many people in the Middle East. I spend three years in many Arabic countries. Never heard a bad word or was treated with disrespect. Trump doesn’t realize. Most of the Muslim are in Africa are Black(honorable people). I’m old school. Rate a person by their actions, not color, race or religion. I stand with you my friend.
