  1. Nice. It’s important to raise awareness of what truly happened to the native Americans, not to wallow in guilt, but Columbus Day might be better replaced by a holiday that elevates a native hero instead. And it’s always better to know the truth than to buy into a pretty myth.

    1. Thank you, Cathleen! Celebrating Columbus is a bit like celebrating Hitler when you think about what happened to the Taino people. I agree. I wish we would replace it. I think you have a great idea! Have a great weekend!😊

    1. Absolutely. I’m passionate about using my voice to advocate for persecuted and poor people whenever I can. Indigenous cultures have been among the most mistreated of all people in the past 500 years of human history. Have a great week!

  2. I always thought it should be Lost Sea Farers Day, myself. No matter who got here first after Native Peoples, they had no clue where they were going. Kind of like discovering a hole in the earth because you fell into it, isn’t it? Wouldn’t want my name attached to THAT…

    1. Lol…Good point. There is a move to celebrate Indigenous Peoples on that day. That seems appropriate to me. Thanks for the comment! I love your take on it.
