unfold
from verdant bud
petals’ shy revealing
blushing at the sun’s warm kisses
the hidden nectar, a sweet seduction
to hungry dance of birds and bees
sensuous, you make seed
so new life may
unfold

Dear Tanya, this is so exquisitely revealed, using “revealed” with intention. There are so many subtle references that build to a crescendo. Whew. Well done. Keith
Thank you, Keith! It was my first go at Rictameter Verse. It feels “addictive” to me the way that haiku and tanka do. I will probably be crafting more of these in the future. Have a great day, my friend!😊
I think these showcase your talent. I look forward to future verse.
Thank you, Keith! Have a great weekend!
Reblogged this on The Militant Negro™.
Thank you for sharing! It is appreciated, as always! Hope your week has continued to be a good one.
Well I’m still alive and not in jail or the ER, so I’m all good.
Lol…Thankfully!
It sometimes takes quite a bit of effort to remain jail/ER free.
Given the climate in the US now, I think that might become more of a reality than it has been…back to Civil Rights Era protests and activism.
I have yet to see much protest against trump, just a lot of bluster and posturing. Besides the women’s march, not much in the organized protest department.
I think it needs to get to that place…something with the passion of noDAPL protesting…people are so distracted. I’m not sure what gets us there.
Lovely, Tanya! You’re a wonderful post and writer! I always enjoy your work!
Thank you so much, Angie! That means a lot to me. Have a great day, my friend!😊
I got this one too, Tanya! :>) And it’s beautiful!
Lol…Thank you, Steven! I’m so glad you liked it! My spring fever is playing itself out in words. Have a wonderful day!😊
Tanya, I loved the seductive unfolding of the bud. Such an enchanting piece! 💖
Thank you so much! I’m thrilled you thought so. There is still a little snow on the ground here, so you are reading my longing for spring. 😊
Dont know how to express my feelings. Can only say BEAUTIFUL.
Thank you! You are making me blush like those flowers…😊
How I wish I could see you. HaHa.
Lol…It’s a little like the emoji: 😊
Thank you Tanya for the share! Hope you are having a awesome Thursday!
Also love the beautiful first to a Rictameter Verse, well done Tanya!
Thank you so much! I find the form addictive like haiku and tanka. I’m sure I’ll be doing more of them. Thanks for introduction to the form on your blog!
I feel the same about all three forms of poetry. Rictameter verse is a little more challenging. But I absolutely love challenges! LOL
I learn a lot from the challenge of the construction of all three. It forces our writer’s brains to think deeply about our word choice. They are so much fun!
exactly. I LOVE IT!
It is part of what I love about the blogging community. I only learned about Rictameter Verse, because you took the time to explain it and post some beautiful examples of it. It’s like getting a new toy to play with…Lol
I totally agree!
I learn so much from blogging. We are fortunate!😊
You are very welcome! I’m having a great Thursday, thank you! Have a wonderful day also, Linda!
This is seriously an excellent poem, Tanya! Very well done…

Thank you so much, Steve! My spring fever is bursting out in words…Lol
I’m thrilled you thought so.
Have an awesome day!😊
I will try to make it an awesome day, you have yourself a nice warm and cozy Wisconsin evening!! 🙂
I will do that, Steve! WI Badgers are playing in the NCAA tournament tonight, so that should heat it up a bit here. You enjoy your evening as well!😊
Well, congratulations to Wisconsin on the victory! I’m sure a number of people there are dealing with the weather a bit better today… 🙂
It’s rainy and cold, but spring is close. It was a good game, but we face #1 Villanova on Saturday…It should be interesting. I will be watching!😊
It was a heat-stopper but Wisconsin got past Villanova! Congrats…A real “bracket boomer!”
🙂
It was an awesome game! It was very noisy in my house while it was going on. I’m looking forward to Friday night’s game. I hope they bring the same intensity.😊
Wisconsin could be a big surprise team! You just never know. Everybody enjoy and have a great time… 🙂
They have had an up and down season, but the talent is there. When they play intensely as a team, they are hard to beat. Fingers crossed!😊
Well, they are 27-9 for the season, a .750 winning pct. They must play with that intensity you talk about often! I did watch them for part of their game the other night. I played basketball in high school, but that was a very long time ago. And we weren’t very good…
Oh well!
🙂
Lol…they went through a tough streak toward the end of the season with some injuries, but they are playing awesome now. Hope it continues!😊
So do I. Even though I am from the USC/UCLA general area, I am behind Wisconsin…they are my “horse in this race!”
Yay! Cheer loud tomorrow night!
You’ll hear me all the way from SoCal…
Awesome!🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀
it made my toes tingle! sensuous yet delicious words that make imagination run and feelings warm and tender. so love the way you write with elegance and passion.
What a delicious comment! Thank you so much! This was my first try at Rictameter Verse. I found it as addictive as haiku and tanka.
I have been recently more adventurous with new styles and still learning my way, but I loved this very much, but some styles are as you say more addictive than others, your words flowed and rolled on my tongue, sweet doesn’t even begin to describe it. Thanks Tanya! – Gina
Well, thank you, Gina! That’s very sweet of you. I loved this form. Because you start and end with the same two syllables, you have to connect the beginning to the end. That’s challenging and great fun. I’m going to play with it some more. It’s like a new toy in the toy box! I’m loving your blog, btw! Your writing is wonderful, and I appreciate the positive and supportive attitude you bring to the blogging community. It’s inspiring!
Thank you for the kind words and warmth! Oh that’s how it goes with the syllables, no wonder it rolls like a luscious pineapple lump candy! Love playing with new toys, what a lovely description about writing! I am still new at all this, still the baby among the giants!
It goes 2-4-6-8-10-8-6-4-2 with the first and last “2” a repeat. You do not write like a “baby” at all, my friend! We are all learning, and sharing the toys…Lol
Thank you for the meter! I will try it! Oh I am humbled by your words, but it means a lot to me, Tanya, thank you.
You are very welcome. I hope you do try it. It’s a lot of fun!
Saw the post this morning and I was tempted to try my hand at the 2/4/6/8 … was a coward though and held back. Glad you attempted it and wow, I love the verse and the RED in that flower.
Thank you, Roger! It is a lot of fun to play with…like a new toy! I’m going to try a few more of them. I love the fact that it starts and ends at the same place. Hope you are feeling better…
Much better, thanks. I think we have both turned the corner here. Full Moon Fading … !
Glad to hear that! Have a wonderful weekend, Roger. Get some extra rest!
Thanks Tanya. Time to start cooking …
Something special for your neighbor? You are lucky to have a neighbor like that.
I did a paella for Clare, my own version. It’s more a zarzuela or rice with “something different every time” … It was good though. I’ll do one for you when you come up to visit!
Oh, I would love that, as I would love visiting you and Clare!
You will always be welcome. We have a big house. There’s lots of room.
Thank you, Roger, from my heart!
Your neighbor is lucky to have you and Clare also!
Brings smile as it unfolds.. Beautiful Tanya!!
Thank you! I’m so glad you enjoyed it!
I nominated you for the Mystery Blogger Award https://poetry2473.wordpress.com/2017/03/19/mystery-blogger-award/
I’d love for you to participate but it’s totally your choice.
Thank you so much! It means a lot to me that you thought of me. I’m not current participating in awards due to lack of time, but I really appreciate the thought. Congratulations on the nomination on your blog!
That’s totally fine. Thank you so much tho!
You are very welcome!😊
Really sensuous
Thank you very much! Glad you thought so.
That means a lot to me. I always try to write from the heart, but these come from a place deep in me that has always connected with nature. It is kind of how I breathe.
Thank you. It does move me…
I think it is there for everyone. It’s just up to us to stop and listen.
Hahaha…yes, don’t forget to breathe! I think we probably do…lucky us/lucky muses.
Most beautiful poem as encouraging all hearts.
Thank you so much, Aruna! I’m glad you liked it!❤❤😊😊😊🌸
Most welcome,dear tanya.😊🌷🌷🌷

On a cold morning in spring for a lot of us, I thought I would heat things up with a warm Rictameter posted in March of 2017. This piece includes a link to Linda J. Wollf’s explanation and example of the poetry form.
