unfold
from verdant bud
petals’ shy revealing
blushing at the sun’s warm kisses
the hidden nectar, a sweet seduction
to hungry dance of birds and bees
sensuous, you make seed
so new life may
unfold

    1. Thank you, Keith! It was my first go at Rictameter Verse. It feels “addictive” to me the way that haiku and tanka do. I will probably be crafting more of these in the future. Have a great day, my friend!😊

      4. Given the climate in the US now, I think that might become more of a reality than it has been…back to Civil Rights Era protests and activism.

      5. I have yet to see much protest against trump, just a lot of bluster and posturing. Besides the women’s march, not much in the organized protest department.

      6. I think it needs to get to that place…something with the passion of noDAPL protesting…people are so distracted. I’m not sure what gets us there.

      3. I learn a lot from the challenge of the construction of all three. It forces our writer’s brains to think deeply about our word choice. They are so much fun!

      4. It’s rainy and cold, but spring is close. It was a good game, but we face #1 Villanova on Saturday…It should be interesting. I will be watching!😊

      8. They have had an up and down season, but the talent is there. When they play intensely as a team, they are hard to beat. Fingers crossed!😊

      9. Well, they are 27-9 for the season, a .750 winning pct. They must play with that intensity you talk about often! I did watch them for part of their game the other night. I played basketball in high school, but that was a very long time ago. And we weren’t very good…
        Oh well!

      1. I have been recently more adventurous with new styles and still learning my way, but I loved this very much, but some styles are as you say more addictive than others, your words flowed and rolled on my tongue, sweet doesn’t even begin to describe it. Thanks Tanya! – Gina

That’s challenging and great fun. I’m going to play with it some more. It’s like a new toy in the toy box! I’m loving your blog, btw!       4. It goes 2-4-6-8-10-8-6-4-2 with the first and last “2” a repeat. You do not write like a “baby” at all, my friend! We are all learning, and sharing the toys…Lol

  10. Saw the post this morning and I was tempted to try my hand at the 2/4/6/8 … was a coward though and held back. Glad you attempted it and wow, I love the verse and the RED in that flower.

      5. I did a paella for Clare, my own version. It’s more a zarzuela or rice with “something different every time” … It was good though. I’ll do one for you when you come up to visit!
