Nectar

beckon
winged company
through a blushing appeal
each petal, an invitation
treasure map to ambrosia concealed
butterfly moves proboscis probe
seeks nectar to consume
as soft flowers
beckon

    1. Thank you, Ally! I can’t wait to get my pots outside planted. I love those flowers. I’m filling the empty pots with words until I can…Lol

  1. Lucky you: I so wish. Back to single figures today and rain with a cold wind. The geraniums are blooming indoors. And the hibiscus. Well be able to move the janies back out again … one day … Love the photo and the poem’s images. Full of promise.

  2. It is! Thank you! I’m so glad you liked it. Most of the flower photos and a lot of the inspiration for the words come right off my back deck. It’s nestled between three rooms that all have sliders leading out to it. I load it with flowers every year. It is a happy, inviting place. My backyard is a mature woodland, so those flowers lure a lot of birds and butterflies to my deck (and squirrels and the occasional fox…Lol)😊
