quenching
thirst of journey
through time’s scorched-earth sand dunes
desert-oasis pond appears
gathered by lore’s cupped hand, lapped by dry tongue
waters of youth’s giving fountain
wet sojourner’s parched lips
old soul’s desire
quenching

Once again, perfection made words.
Thank you, Manuel! That is really sweet and generous of you. You made me smile!
Mission accomplished (robot voice) lol. Stay awesome Tanya.
hahahahaha
You do the same, Manuel! 😊
I will do
This is powerfully beautiful.

Timely. I wonder when the taps will run dry
You have entered the Monsoon season. We are having dry weather here, so I wasn’t thinking Monsoon when I wrote this. Rajiv, just for you, I am imagining a sunny oasis with a hammock to rest in and lots of palm trees and a little, cool creek running through it. (No torrential rain allowed). Stay dry and safe! ☔️☀️🌴😊
This year, the monsoon is bizarre. There is so much rain along the western coast of India, that they are flooded. In the North, lots of humidity, but no rain. Last week, the temperature was 38 Celsius, with a real feel of 49 Celsius.. I thought I was going to die!
That sounds nasty. Take good care of yourself and stay safe, Rajiv!
Am trying… we did have rain yesterday and all hell broke loose! The roads were flooded !!
I am wishing you some dry weather. That sounds miserable. Hang in there, Rajiv.
Actually, I would like to hang some of our politicians!! It seems your President will visit India on 26 Jan 2019 as the Chief Guest of our Republic Day Parade. Sigh !
I would say you can keep him, but I’m not that mean. 😉
We have many madmen here these days, in India.. he would feel at home here! But, we are generous.. we will return him to you !
I’m not sure that is generosity, but I understand. 🤣
And.. we need the rain !
So, here is hoping that you get just enough rain and not too much. And no washing away on the flooded roads allowed. ☔🌈 Crazy weather!
Thank ya!
☺
Tanya, as a sojourner and old soul, I love your close to this poem. Well done, Keith
Thank you so much, Keith! I’m glad. Enjoy the rest of your weekend. ☺
You too.
