I Played

I played
a beautiful song
in multicolored notes
scattered
across a lined page
carefully metered
for sweet-sounding melody

wind-blown notes from warm lips –
the air-born gifts of a hand-held flute

I played
on a concrete step
that led
to a House of White
flattered
where they stole my sheet
and blotted out the rainbow hues

leaving me but a monotonous tune –
the repetitive honk of a lonely goose

  1. So Masterfully stated. And Elegant too. Loved your opening so much, painted a great picture, and your disdainful ending too. Bravo!! I try not to focus on politics but it’s so hard not too. I feel the same way that the songwriter of the hit “The Gambler” did when he named one of his other songs, “Allergic to Crazy”! LOL!

Thanks so much for following me. I’m so glad you found me so that I can now follow you!!

      1. No, thank you for such a wonderful post.

I know what you mean about the “Political Button” and hypocrisy and ignorance set me off too! Too much of that going around! It’s just too rich for me to handle when people want to string up an opponent up for doing “A”, but when one of their buddies does “A” well, somehow that’s not really that bad. Be consistent!

I look forward to keeping in touch too!

      1. Absolutely. The videos I have on WP were all edited with Adobe Elements 14 software. You can purchase it in a package with Photoshop. It’s pretty straightforward to use, which is a good thing, because stop-motion is labor intensive.

      2. You’re very welcome. I’ll post that video tomorrow. It involved more than 100 pictures and several hundred frames, several layers of video filters and sound, as well as the words and graphic effects. For something that only lasts 1 1/2 minutes, it’s a lot of “stuff”…lol
I hope you like it! If you have any other questions, just ask.

      1. Thank you, Tiffany! That means a lot to me. The book is still up there. They don’t “time out” on reviews as far as I know.
Have a wonderful weekend, if I don’t talk to you before!
