dreaming
to rainy beat
through the open window
the storm’s falling tears beckon me
carry me on waves through tempest-tossed night
I cascade over waterfalls
and drift on oceans calm
wash up on shore
dreaming

Nicely done, Tanya.
Thank you, Robert! Rictameter Verse is a fun format to play with.

Thank you for the share! Hope you are enjoying your day, my friend!
As they say, every day on earth is supposed to be a blessed day. Just not so much for everybody. Love you and your inspirational words.
We just keep working toward that goal. Each person helped counts. Thank you again for your friendship and support! It
means a lot to me!😊
You are a super woman and I’m honored to consider you a Sister in this struggle to preserve humanity.
It is a shared honor, my Brother! I get so much encouragement from our interactions and those I have with some of the other like-minded, caring souls out there. We keep each other standing strong!
Umoja we Are. We should start a blog organization of like minded bloggers from all walks of life. Call it something like “Bloggers Umoja.”
“Unity” (I like the word, Umoja better. Unity has been overdone and lost a lot of its meaning). I love the idea.
It’s an idea, maybe when you find some free spare down time, we can kick the idea around, see what happens. Being a busy mom means you don’t have a lot of free time.
I will think on it. Busy is the word, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. Be blessed, my friend!
I am but a humble water molecule in the cycle of life… waiting for my chance to evaporate and return to the heavens so as to fall once again and be part of your dream.
Lovely dream Tanya! ^.^
What a beautiful comment! Thank you so much! I will treasure that one in my dream lock-box!
Awww thanks!
😊
Absolutely beautiful. Such strong imagery! Thank you for sharing this. 😊
Thank you so much! I’m thrilled you thought so. 😊
I like this very much: “drifting on oceans calm I wash up on shore dreaming.” Very nice.
Thank you, Roger! I love the Rictameter Verse format. We talked about that before, I think. I love the circular nature of it.
We find verse forms that suit us and then we expand with them and play with them. It’s a sort of niche structure and differs for each on of us. Nothing better than a poetry comfort zone that you can then manipulate and make uncomfortable!
I agree. It was really awkward when I first tried it…like riding a bike for the first time. We grow from trying new things though.
Absolutely essential. I have grown (and changed) a great deal since I gave up teaching. As for riding that first bike … every verse form is a new bike!
Every time..I’m going through the final re-write on the “free” book of my old fantasy novel series. Even that has been a new bike. It is a light year from where it began. I’m riding anew.
Revision is fascinating. We are not writers, we are re-writers!
Absolutely!

Thank you, Manuel! I’m so glad you thought so.
Thank you so much, Steve! A few more weeks and it will be the smell of the apple tree blossoms drifting in through my windows…
We can share a cup of percolated words, freshly brewed…haha
