devour the writer
taste the words
savor them on your tongue
chew
swallow
allow them to digest
until their nutrients
absorb into your cells
feeding you
let ink –
the layers of metaphor,
narrative,
plot
and
construct –
dissolve
there, the writer –
stripped bare
to
soul,
will be
inside you

Reminds me of Whitman – “Do I contradict myself? Very well, then I contradict myself, I am large, I contain multitudes?” Way better than having a wall round yourself …

It is definitely better than having a wall around yourself. Thank you, Dave! I love the quote.

I agree dear Tanya. Hemingway wrote “Writers must bleed their words to paper. Strip their heart and soul to the world.”

Thank you, John! I love that quote.
